¶ Legacy DNS
Follow the steps below to configure ControlD DNS on your Xbox One. Keep in mind that the Xbox platform only supports legacy DNS.
¶ Step 1
Navigate to the console Settings from the home screen.
¶ Step 2
Open the Network section and then select Network settings.
¶ Step 3
From here, choose the Advanced settings option.
¶ Step 4
Now choose the DNS settings and select the Manual option.
¶ Step 5
Finally you can input the ControlD DNS IP. If you're configuring our free DNS resolvers, you can use one of these:
- Unfiltered → 76.76.2.0
- Block Malware → 76.76.2.1
- Block Malware + Ads → 76.76.2.2
- Block Malware + Ads + Social → 76.76.2.3
If you are configuring a custom DNS resolver, you can find your custom DNS IP in the My Account section:
Enter the DNS IP you will use and press Enter. Use the same DNS IP for the Secondary DNS as well.
¶ Step 10
Now press B on your controller and the Xbox will verify the connection. After that's done, you're using ControlD on your console!
