Follow the steps below to configure ControlD DNS on your PlayStation 4 console. Keep in mind that these consoles only support legacy DNS.
Navigate to the console Settings from the home screen.
Open the Network section.
Now select Set Up Internet Connection.
Choose the Wi-Fi or LAN cable option, whichever you use to connect to the internet.
Select the Custom setup.
If you're using Wi-Fi, select the network you are going to be connected to.
For the IP Address Settings, select Automatic.
Choose Do not specify on the DHCP Host Name screen.
Now on the DNS Settings screen, choose Manual.
Now you can input the ControlD DNS IP. If you're configuring our free DNS resolvers, you can use one of these:
If you are configuring a custom DNS resolver, you can find your custom DNS IP in the My Account section:
You'll see a Primary and a Secondary DNS, we will be using only the Primary.
Select Primary DNS and enter the DNS IP you will use. Then press R2 or Done. Finally press Next to finish with the DNS settings.
For the MTU Settings select Automatic.
Pick the Do Not Use option on the Proxy Server page.
Finally, the last step is to Test Internet Connection.
Once this completes successfully, you are using ControlD on your console!
